What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Browser storage (session storage, local storage) works in a similar way, so this page covers it too.

Necessary cookies

These make the site work, so they don’t need your permission. They come from ReYep itself and are used only for what is listed here.

Name What it does How long
wordpress_logged_in_… wordpress_sec_… Keep you signed in to your account. Until you sign out, at most 14 days
wordpress_test_cookie Checks that your browser accepts cookies when you sign in. Until you close the browser
pll_language Remembers the language you read the site in. 1 year
reyep_consent Stores your cookie choice, so we don’t ask on every page. 12 months (6 months after “Reject”)
reyep_delete_link Only on the account deletion page: carries the one-time link from your email to the confirmation form. 1 hour

Analytics cookies (only with your permission)

If you accept, Google Analytics 4 (Google) counts visits and shows which pages, horoscopes and tools readers use and how they found us. This tells us what to write and what to fix. Until you accept, the Google Analytics script isn’t loaded at all.

Name What it does How long
_ga Tells visits from the same browser apart with a random ID. 2 years
_ga_XCVX5G36LB Keeps track of the current visit. 2 years

We send no names or email addresses to Google Analytics, and Google Analytics 4 doesn’t store IP addresses. Its advertising features stay off: through Google’s Consent Mode we tell Google that ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization are not allowed. How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Browser storage for features you use

Some features keep a short note in your browser’s session storage. It is deleted when you close the tab, and nothing in it reaches us unless you send a form.

Name What it does How long
reyep_bday reyep_tools_birth Carry the birth details you typed into a free tool on to the sign-up form, so you don’t type them again. Until you close the tab
reyep_bar_closed Remembers that you closed the sign-up bar on a horoscope page. Until you close the tab

Notifications

Our notification service, OneSignal, keeps its settings in your browser’s storage so it can offer and deliver notifications. You get notifications only if you allow them when your browser asks, and you can turn them off at any time in your browser’s site settings.

Signing in with Google

On the sign-in and sign-up pages, the “Sign in with Google” button is loaded from Google, and Google’s own cookies apply there. See the Google Privacy Policy.

No advertising cookies

ReYep shows no ads and uses no advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.

Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or with the button above. Withdrawing deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings; we then ask again on your next visit.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as “Reject” for analytics and don’t show the banner. You can still switch analytics on yourself in the cookie settings.
